Vintage Bone Guitar Nuts
Many luthiers and guitar manufacturers prefer bone nuts, saddles and bridge pins for their instruments. The bone we offer is oxen bone from the Middle East. This bone has minimal porosity and a great appearance. All of our bone parts have been fully treated in accordance with USDA health standards so you do not have to worry about cleanliness and health issues associated with this material. Its density and minimal porosity are features that yield good intonation and clarity.
The vintage bone is sought after by folks wanting a bit of an antique or "old time" look. This is unbleached bone that is blessed with natural mottling and noticeable color variations. Contrary to popular belief, this material is not harder than the white bone. The bone parts are legal to ship internationally.
Blanks - Oversized on all dimensions to grant artisans the leeway needed to create the right part.
Pre-shaped - These parts have been shaped to save you time and effort. These require the minor finish work of filing, sanding and slotting.
